| DESCRIPTION: |
| The House on Glen Lake is located on the west side of scenic Glen Lake in a wooded, and secluded area. Large windows face Glen Lake giving a spectacular view of the lake and opposite shore. Included in this view are mountains that rise up from the east shore of Glen Lake. These rugged mountains are part of the Rockies and are contained within the Kootenai National Forest with nearby majestic 6,000 to 9,000 foot mountain peaks. Part of your view also includes Therriault Pass. Located at the top of this mountain range, it is a large glacially formed U-shaped pass. Years ago a glacier swept through this pass and down into the valley below where is scoured out the lake bed of Glen Lake. As the glacier receded the waters filled this basin and formed Glen Lake.
Glen Lake is a picture perfect mountain lake. It is about 1 mile across and 2 miles long. It warms up nicely in the summer for swimming, is large enough for boating and water skiing and is full of trout and salmon if you like to fish. Periodically you may spot an Osprey or Bald Eagle doing some fishing of their own. Occasionally, Whitetail Deer will be seen in the front yard feeding in the morning. We have also seen elk and moose, but deer are very common in this area.
The House on Glen Lake Description
The House on Glen Lake is situated on a large 150 foot wide lakefront lot located on Glen Lake. It includes it?s own private dock for fishing, swimming, or boating. A boat is not included but you can bring your own or rent one in the nearby Whitefish or Kalispell area. A large deck is situated on the path down to the lake and looks out over the lake and dock area. It is ideal for taking pictures or just relaxing.
The House on Glen Lake has a large kitchen and dining area, a nice sized living room, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen is fully furnished including a full sized refrigerator, microwave and oven/stove. The living room has a tall vaulted ceiling with beams and is finished in rustic knotty pine. The master bedroom is finished with half log walls, has a jetted tub and has a spectacular view of the lake. A very special feature of the master bedroom is its private screened in porch accessible through a set of French doors. You can relax in the mornings on this porch with a book and listen to the sounds of the Lake waking up. The songs of the loons in the morning are especially stirring.
