| Nestling on the Gulf Coast, Fort Myers, has palm fringed avenues and white sandy beaches making this an idyllic vacation destination.
The area boasts every shop and restaurant imaginable, with various art and entertainment attractions.
Fort Myers has the finest New York designer stores, indoor air conditioned malls and the famous outlets where you can find named brands at a fraction of the retail price.
The area has some 20 different beaches including the islands of Sanibel and Captiva with their white sandy beaches and turquoise waters.
If you prefer beaches with amenities then try Fort Myers Beach with its beach bars and restaurants, water sports and sea fishing. Just south of Fort Myers are Bonita beach & Vanderbilt Beach. Along this stretch of coastline there are a numerous beautiful public beaches and wildlife parks and the Everglades within an hours drive away.
A trip on an ?airboat? is essential to appreciate the wildlife.
There are some 50 golf courses with most hiring out clubs and equipment.
The Edison & Ford Winter Homes on McGregor Blvd are an interesting ?step back in time? and well worth the visit.
